2026 Week 4 Fantasy Football: Travis Etienne Placed on Injured Reserve

Etienne's hamstring injury costs him at least four games — here's who picks up the carries in New Orleans.

According to ProFootballTalk (NBC Sports), the Saints have placed running back Travis Etienne on injured reserve with a hamstring injury. Saints head coach Kellen Moore confirmed the move Thursday. Etienne will miss Monday night's game against the Falcons and at least three more after that — four games minimum is the floor with IR.

Travis Etienne

Etienne was the Saints' clear lead back, pacing the team with 30 carries and 128 rushing yards before going down. Drop him to the IR designation on your roster immediately if your platform hasn't done it automatically. In redraft, he's unrosterable for the next month — cut him in shallow leagues and stash him only if you have the bench depth in deeper ones. Dynasty managers hold without question; hamstrings can linger, but the long-term value isn't in doubt here.

Alvin Kamara

Kamara is the immediate beneficiary and the name to grab on waivers right now. The source story lists him as the next back up alongside Kendre Miller and CJ Donaldson, but Kamara's presence on the depth chart makes him the priority add — he's the most proven option in that room. How the Saints split carries among the three backs is the key unknown the story doesn't answer, so monitor practice reports heading into Monday night.

Kendre Miller

Miller is the handcuff worth targeting in deeper leagues if Kamara is gone. He and Donaldson are listed as the remaining options, but the story gives no indication of a defined pecking order below Kamara. If Miller earns a featured role in the backfield, the volume behind a Saints offense could make him a weekly streamer — but don't reach for him until you see how the touches shake out in Week 5.
