2026 Week 6 Fantasy Football: Ladd McConkey Injury Update
McConkey didn't play a snap in Week 5 despite suiting up — his status for the Chiefs game is still uncertain.
Ladd McConkey dressed for Sunday's loss to the Broncos but never saw the field, according to ProFootballTalk (NBC Sports). Head coach Jim Harbaugh confirmed Monday that McConkey was kept available strictly as a break-glass option: "He was an emergency situation. We did not want to put him in." McConkey had missed all of last week's practice with a foot injury and was listed as questionable on the final injury report.

Harbaugh said McConkey could be "working back in" for this week's game against the Chiefs, but that's a long way from a full green light. He played a limited role in Week 4 and went catchless in that game — so even before Week 5's zero-snap performance, his foot was already limiting him. On the season he has 12 catches for 183 yards and a touchdown, but that production is essentially on hold until he's healthy enough to actually play.
Fade him in redraft this week unless his practice status improves dramatically mid-week. A "working back in" designation from the head coach, against a Chiefs defense that won't make life easy, is not enough to start him with confidence. In dynasty, the injury timeline matters more than this week's game — ProFootballTalk's report gives no specific return date, so monitor his Wednesday and Thursday practice participation closely before making any moves.
