2026 Week 8 Fantasy Football Injury Report: Rams' Whittington, Parkinson Among Four Questionable vs. Chargers
Jordan Whittington and Colby Parkinson are both listed questionable with Davante Adams already out, thinning the Rams' skill-position depth.
The Los Angeles Rams are heading into Sunday's game against the Chargers with a crowded injury report, according to ProFootballTalk (NBC Sports). Cornerback Trent McDuffie (groin), center Coleman Shelton (hip), wide receiver Jordan Whittington (back), and tight end Colby Parkinson (rib) are all listed as questionable. None were ruled out.
Jordan Whittington
Whittington's back issue adds more uncertainty to a Rams receiving corps already missing Davante Adams, who underwent hamstring surgery and is projected out six to ten weeks per recent reporting. Whittington did not practice enough to have his availability locked in — the source story lists him as questionable with no detail on whether he practiced. If he's out, the targets have to go somewhere. Puka Nacua is the clear No. 1, averaging 12.4 targets per game across five games this season and playing 84% of snaps. Konata Mumpfield would be next in line for a bump in a complementary role, though his usage this season — 3.2 targets per game on 42% snap share — suggests a ceiling on that opportunity. Tutu Atwell has played just 28% of snaps in four games and is a thin upside play at best.
Colby Parkinson
Parkinson didn't practice at all this week but retains a chance to play, per ProFootballTalk (NBC Sports) — that's about the most tenuous "active" designation possible. If he's out, Tyler Higbee would be next in line for touches at tight end. Higbee is averaging 5.3 targets and 4.3 receptions per game across seven games this season, which is a solid TE2 floor. Davis Allen is also in the mix at 2.3 targets per game and 46% snap share, giving him a modest upside bump if both Parkinson and Whittington miss. Don't start Higbee as a set-and-forget play just yet — monitor Sunday morning active/inactive reports before locking anything in.
