2026 Week 8 Fantasy Football: Jakobi Meyers Hamstring, Antonio Johnson Out for Jaguars
Meyers practiced limited Wednesday but hasn't missed a game yet — here's what the injury report means for your roster.
The Jacksonville Jaguars returned from their bye week with some injury news to track, according to ProFootballTalk (NBC Sports). Wide receiver Jakobi Meyers is dealing with a hamstring injury that limited him in Wednesday's practice, and safety Antonio Johnson did not practice at all due to an ankle injury — making Johnson the likelier of the two to miss Sunday's game.
Jakobi Meyers
Meyers hasn't missed a game this season despite the hamstring issue, and the limited practice designation coming off a bye isn't necessarily alarming — teams often manage veterans cautiously after a rest week. Still, hamstrings and wide receivers are a combination worth watching closely as the week progresses. He's put up 20 catches for 285 yards and two touchdowns on the season, so he's clearly been a real contributor in this offense. Hold him for now, but track Thursday and Friday's designations before locking in your lineup.
If Meyers were to miss time, Parker Washington would be the first beneficiary to target. Washington is averaging 7.7 targets and 4.3 receptions per game across six games — that's genuine volume. He'd be an immediate waiver priority in PPR (point-per-reception) leagues if Meyers sits. Brian Thomas Jr. is a secondary name to know: his role shrank before the bye, though Jaguars coach Liam Coen publicly said he'd have an opportunity to contribute in Week 8, per a separate report from NBC Sports. Thomas Jr. is averaging just 3.3 targets per game this season, so he's more of a deep-league stash than a must-add. Travis Hunter is seeing minimal snaps (9.3% snap share on average) and isn't a realistic fantasy factor at this point.
