2026 Week 8 Fantasy Football: NFL to Review New Allegations Against Josh Jacobs

The NFL's expanded investigation into Josh Jacobs dramatically raises his suspension risk — and the Packers' patience may be running out too.

According to ProFootballTalk (NBC Sports), the NFL is expanding its investigation into Packers running back Josh Jacobs after police records released Friday revealed three additional women have made allegations of violence against him. The league said in a statement Saturday: "We will review these allegations as part of the investigation which has remained open." Jacobs had already entered a no-contest plea to misdemeanor battery for a May 2026 incident and missed six games on paid leave.

The fantasy implications here are serious and unresolved. ProFootballTalk notes that the NFL's Personal Conduct Policy sets a baseline of six games without pay per domestic violence incident, with enhanced penalties for repeat offenses. With three new allegations now under review, Jacobs could be facing a lengthy suspension — and he'd still owe back the salary he received during his paid leave. The video from the original May incident also remains under NFL review, meaning his punishment for that incident alone isn't final yet. There is no confirmed timeline for any of this, and the Packers declined to comment Saturday.

Separately, ProFootballTalk reported earlier Saturday that the Packers' support for Jacobs may be wavering. A release or further separation from Green Bay is possible — but neither outcome is confirmed. Dynasty managers should treat Jacobs as a serious hold/cut candidate. Redraft managers should consider him unplayable until the situation clarifies: the suspension exposure is real, the team's backing is uncertain, and there's no resolution in sight.

MarShawn Lloyd

If Jacobs is suspended or released, Lloyd would be next in line as the No. 2 back on Green Bay's depth chart. He's averaging 9.4 touches and a 38.4% snap share (percentage of offensive snaps played) across seven games this season — a real workload that would have room to grow significantly. He's the clearest fantasy beneficiary here and a strong waiver wire add in deeper leagues right now, before the situation is resolved.

Pierre Strong Jr.

Strong is the No. 3 back and has actually averaged more targets (5.0) and touches (12.0) per game than Lloyd this season, which makes him intriguing. His 35.9% snap share trails Lloyd's, but his pass-catching usage suggests he'd carve out a role in an expanded backfield committee. In PPR formats (point-per-reception scoring), he's worth a speculative add in deeper leagues alongside Lloyd.

Note: Kaleb Johnson is listed at No. 5 on the depth chart and is currently out, so he's not a realistic near-term beneficiary regardless of what happens with Jacobs.
