2026 Week 8 Fantasy Football: Saquon Barkley, DeVonta Smith Miss Practice Again
The Eagles' offense is a mess heading into Week 8, with Barkley's back and two receivers both missing back-to-back practices.
According to ProFootballTalk (NBC Sports), Saquon Barkley, DeVonta Smith, and Dontayvion Wicks all missed Eagles practice for the second straight day on Thursday. Barkley returned from a hamstring injury last Monday night against the Cowboys, but hurt his back and logged only 10 snaps in the 38-21 loss. Smith (hamstring) and Wicks (ankle) didn't play in that game at all. All three are trending in the wrong direction with the weekend approaching.
Saquon Barkley
Barkley is managing two separate injury concerns — a hamstring and a back — after just 10 snaps of work in Week 7. ProFootballTalk (NBC Sports) reports he has not practiced Wednesday or Thursday. Two straight DNPs mid-week is a serious red flag. Fade him in redraft until he gets a full practice and a clear bill of health. Dynasty managers should hold, but don't panic-sell into uncertainty.
DeVonta Smith
Smith sat out the Cowboys game entirely and still hasn't practiced this week, per ProFootballTalk (NBC Sports). The hamstring tag with zero practice reps two days in is not encouraging. He carries a Questionable designation, but back-to-back DNPs make an actual game appearance feel like a coin flip at best. Look elsewhere in your lineup if you have the depth to do so.
Dontayvion Wicks
Wicks (ankle) is in the same boat — no practice Wednesday or Thursday, also Questionable. He didn't play last week either, so there's no recent tape to lean on. With both Smith and Wicks sidelined together, the Eagles receiving corps is badly thinned out. If either misses Sunday, Makai Lemon is the next man up — he's averaging 5.1 targets and 72.1% snap share (percentage of offensive snaps played) across seven games this season, making him a legitimate emergency add on the waiver wire. Darius Cooper is deeper on the depth chart at 50.3% snap share but has also seen 3.6 targets per game and is worth a stash in deeper leagues if Lemon is gone. Marquise Brown has played only three games this year and is a longer shot to see a meaningful role bump.
The short version: Philadelphia's offense is a fantasy disaster zone right now. Check final injury reports Friday before making any lineup calls on this group.
