Bears Elevate Zavier Scott for Week 7 Thursday Night Game

Scott gets another practice-squad elevation as Kyle Monangai remains out against the Patriots.

The Chicago Bears have elevated running back Zavier Scott from the practice squad for Thursday night's game against the Patriots, according to ProFootballTalk (NBC Sports). Scott will revert back to the practice squad after the game, as will linebacker Buddy Johnson, who was also elevated.

Zavier Scott

This is Scott's third straight game-day elevation, but don't get too excited — ProFootballTalk notes he has logged 30 snaps over the last two weeks exclusively on special teams. His role is coverage unit depth, not backfield carries. He's on the practice squad for a reason, and nothing in this elevation changes that. The real fantasy signal here is that Kyle Monangai remains out of the lineup, which is worth monitoring for whoever is actually rostered behind him on the Bears' depth chart. Scott himself is not a viable fantasy option in redraft or dynasty at this point.
