Bengals TE Tanner Hudson Out for Season With Torn Pectoral
Hudson's season-ending injury opens the door for Mike Gesicki and the rest of Cincinnati's tight end room.
Tanner Hudson is done for the year, according to ProFootballTalk (NBC Sports). Hudson's agent told WLWT's Charlie Clifford that the Bengals tight end suffered a torn pectoral during Cincinnati's Week 5 win over the Dolphins — the same game in which he caught a two-yard touchdown and finished with three catches for 14 yards.
Tanner Hudson
Drop him in redraft. Hudson had just seven catches for 33 yards over his first five weeks, so his fantasy floor was already about as low as it gets. The torn pectoral ends any lingering hopes of a late-season role. Dynasty managers can stash him as a cheap depth piece given he'll be a free agent in 2027, but there's no urgency.
Mike Gesicki
Gesicki is the clearest beneficiary here. ProFootballTalk lists him first among Cincinnati's remaining tight ends — ahead of Erick All, Drew Sample, and Jack Endries — which signals he's the primary option to absorb whatever role Hudson vacated. That said, Hudson's raw production (seven catches, 33 yards, one score in five games) wasn't massive, so don't expect a sudden target explosion. Gesicki is worth a waiver pickup in deeper leagues (standard 10-team leagues using PPR scoring, i.e., one point per reception) if he's available, but temper expectations until we see how the Bengals distribute tight end snaps going forward.
