2026 Week 2 Fantasy Football Recap: Every Game, Every Key Performer
JSN goes nuclear, Caleb Williams goes down, and Dallas puts up a shootout in a wild Week 2 across all 16 games.
Week 2 delivered star performances, a brutal quarterback injury, and a few offensive lines that need to answer some questions. The Thursday night Lions-Bills game gave fantasy managers a dream start to the week, but Sunday's slate was far more uneven — lots of defenses showing up, lots of offenses sputtering. Here's everything that mattered for your roster.
Detroit Lions 31 at Buffalo Bills 41
Josh Allen was the week's overall fantasy QB1, putting up 40.82 points (standard/PPR) on 248 passing yards, 3 passing TDs, 69 rushing yards, and 2 rushing scores. That rushing-TD double is what separates Allen from nearly every other quarterback in the game. His 14 rushing attempts on 74 snaps are a reminder that this scoring ceiling is real and repeatable.
Dalton Kincaid was the tight end story of this game — 7 catches on 8 targets, 95 yards, and a touchdown for 22.5 PPR points. News snippets referenced this as his second 18-plus PPR game in as many weeks. That's not a hot streak; that's a role. Lock him in.
James Cook ran 21 times for 135 yards and a score (20.9 PPR). He's the unambiguous lead back in Buffalo's run game with 22 touches on 74.3% snap share. No committee concerns here.
Keon Coleman caught all 6 of his targets for 63 yards. Joshua Palmer made the most of his 3 looks — 1 catch, 43 yards, 1 TD — mostly off volume efficiency rather than real target share at 37.8% snap rate. Don't overreact to Palmer's score.
On the Detroit side, Amon-Ra St. Brown was dominant: 9 catches on 13 targets, 142 yards, 2 TDs for 35.2 PPR points. He leads the league in targets after two weeks per available reporting. Jared Goff threw for 327 yards and 4 TDs, finishing QB2 overall this week. Jahmyr Gibbs posted 23.3 PPR points on 22 touches, adding 6 catches on 8 targets — the full-back role is very much his. Sam LaPorta caught 6 of 7 targets for 52 yards and a TD (17.2 PPR). Detroit's entire skill group is in play every week.
Looking ahead: Buffalo's trio of Allen, Cook, and Kincaid are locked-in starters. Detroit's offense looks just as potent — and they were the losing team in a 72-point game.
Carolina Panthers 34 at Atlanta Falcons 3
Carolina ran Atlanta off the field. Bryce Young threw for 287 yards and 3 TDs on 36 attempts (24.1 fantasy points), showing legitimate efficiency in a blowout. The Panthers spread the ball around effectively.
Darren Waller hauled in all 3 of his targets for 33 yards and 2 touchdowns (18.3 PPR). He did that in just 44% snap share — two red-zone looks, two scores. TD-dependent but clearly trusted near the goal line.
Tetairoa McMillan posted his second 100-yard game of his career, catching 5 of 10 targets for 101 yards (15.1 PPR). Ten targets on 80.3% snap share is a real role for the rookie. Jalen Coker added 8 catches on 9 targets for 66 yards (14.6 PPR) — volume is real. Chuba Hubbard ran 12 times for 53 yards, added a receiving TD, and finished 14.4 PPR. He handled 65% of Carolina's backfield snaps.
Atlanta was a disaster — 3 points total. Bijan Robinson still ran 16 times for 72 yards (11.1 PPR) despite the lopsided script, but his snap share was only 50.7%. Brian Robinson is listed as questionable going forward after this week, which adds uncertainty to Atlanta's already murky backfield. News out Monday confirmed Michael Penix Jr. will start for Atlanta in Week 3 after coming back from a torn ACL. Drake London (8.9 PPR) and the rest of the Falcons' skill players are in wait-and-see mode until Penix proves he can run this offense.
Looking ahead: Carolina's offense is generating real fantasy options across all skill positions. Atlanta's switch to Penix creates uncertainty — approach all Falcons skill players cautiously in Week 3.
New Orleans Saints 24 at Baltimore Ravens 17
New Orleans pulled the road upset. Tyler Shough was excellent: 27 of 34 for 252 yards, 1 passing TD, and 1 rushing TD for 22.4 fantasy points on 79.4% completion. He's earned continued starts.
Chris Olave was the top target, catching 8 of 10 for 86 yards and a score (22.6 PPR). Devaughn Vele added 5 catches for 64 yards (11.4 PPR) on 95.6% snap share. Juwan Johnson caught all 4 of his targets for 66 yards (10.6 PPR). Alvin Kamara, however, was quiet — 5 catches for 7 yards and 9 carries for 15 yards on just 29.4% snap share (7.2 PPR). That's a concerning usage split. Someone else is eating into his role.
Baltimore lost at home and the fantasy numbers reflected a struggling offense. Lamar Jackson posted only 15.8 points — 235 yards, 1 TD, 1 INT, 3 sacks. Derrick Henry ran 16 times for 68 yards, added a TD, and scored 17.7 PPR — salvageable. Rashod Bateman caught 7 of 9 targets for 88 yards and a score (21.8 PPR), which was the bright spot. Mark Andrews caught 6 of 7 for 49 yards but found no end zone (10.9 PPR).
Looking ahead: New Orleans' passing game is cooking with Shough at QB. Baltimore is 0-2 and their offense needs to figure itself out — Henry's score saved his week, but the surrounding cast is underperforming.
Minnesota Vikings 9 at Chicago Bears 3
A three-point game that crushed fantasy lineups. Chicago went from 59 points in Week 1 to 3. Caleb Williams finished with 138 passing yards, 1 INT, and 3 sacks before exiting — and his injury_status is listed as Out. That is the most important fantasy takeaway from this game. Williams owners need a replacement immediately.
D'Andre Swift ran 16 times for 45 yards, caught all 5 of his targets for 54 yards, but lost a fumble (12.9 PPR in a nothing game). Rome Odunze caught 3 of 4 for 43 yards (7.3 PPR). Luther Burden saw 7 targets and caught 3 for 32 yards (6.2 PPR). None of them can do much without a functional QB situation.
Minnesota's offense was equally dormant — 9 points total. Aaron Jones ran 23 times for 105 yards on 80.8% snap share (10.5 PPR), which was the lone bright spot. He's listed as questionable going forward, which is a critical watch item for Week 3 managers. Carson Wentz threw for just 143 yards and finished with 6.3 fantasy points. Justin Jefferson caught 3 of 6 for 55 yards but dropped 3 balls (8.5 PPR). Will Reichard hit all 3 field goal attempts — the kicker was literally the fantasy MVP of this game.
Looking ahead: Caleb Williams is out — Bears QB is a must-address on the waiver wire. Aaron Jones' questionable tag needs daily monitoring. Both offenses looked genuinely bad in this game; don't over-trust anyone from this matchup.
Cincinnati Bengals 20 at Houston Texans 6
Cincinnati won a low-scoring game, but the fantasy output was split. Ja'Marr Chase was the PPR standout: 7 catches on 9 targets, 75 yards, 2 TDs for 26.5 PPR points on 88.3% snap share. His two scores did the heavy lifting — without them, it's a 6.5-point game. Still, he commanded the targets and delivered in the red zone.
Tee Higgins saw 10 targets but converted only 5 for 95 yards and no score (14.5 PPR). The volume is encouraging even without a TD. Chase Brown ran 20 times for 80 yards and added 3 catches on 5 targets (11.2 PPR) — workhorse usage at 70% snaps. Joe Burrow took 5 sacks but finished with 207 yards and 2 TDs for 16.2 fantasy points. Evan McPherson drilled both field goals, including one from 57 yards.
Houston's offense was stifled. C.J. Stroud threw 55 times for 353 yards but zero touchdowns (17.0 fantasy points) — that's a brutal efficiency number. Dalton Schultz was the clear fantasy winner for the Texans, catching 12 of 14 targets for 140 yards (26.0 PPR). That target share is absurd and he's the week's TE1. Woody Marks (8.5 PPR) and the Houston WR corps (Kayshon Boutte and Xavier Hutchinson each with 6.7 PPR) were all held in check.
Looking ahead: Chase and Higgins are locked in as Bengals starters. Dalton Schultz's 14-target game is a signal worth watching — if Houston keeps leaning on him this hard, he's a top-5 TE. Stroud owners should not panic about zero TDs given the yardage, but this offense needs to find the end zone.
Pittsburgh Steelers 3 at New England Patriots 20
New England won handily. TreVeyon Henderson came back from a Week 1 absence and immediately took over — 16 carries, 76 yards, 1 TD on 60% snap share (13.6 fantasy points). The news confirms he "reasserted himself in the backfield mix." Rico Dowdle is listed as Out, which likely clears the path for Henderson to maintain this role. Romeo Doubs caught 3 of 4 targets for 96 yards — most of that on a long catch — for 12.6 PPR. Drake Maye threw for 208 yards but no TDs (9.0 fantasy points). Hunter Henry caught 3 of 5 for 40 yards (7.0 PPR). Eli Raridon caught his only target for 30 yards but is listed as questionable.
Pittsburgh scored 3 points. DK Metcalf played 97.1% of snaps but caught only 4 of 9 targets for 27 yards (6.7 PPR). Germie Bernard saw 8 targets, caught 4 for 35 yards (7.5 PPR). Roman Wilson caught 5 of 6 for 28 yards (7.8 PPR). Jaylen Warren ran 11 times for 43 yards and added 2 catches (9.7 PPR). None of it was fantasy-relevant given the 3-point total. Dowdle's Out designation means Warren figures to inherit more work going forward.
Looking ahead: Henderson is the clear next-man-up in New England with Dowdle out. Pittsburgh's offense needs a reset — Metcalf's target volume isn't translating, and the Steelers scored 3 points. Fade this offense until further notice.
Green Bay Packers 20 at New York Jets 17
A tight win for Green Bay. Garrett Wilson caught 5 of 7 for 57 yards and a TD (16.7 PPR) and remains the Jets' most reliable weapon. Breece Hall ran 16 times for just 29 yards (1.81 YPC) but salvaged the day with 5 catches for 63 yards, including a 43-yard reception (14.2 PPR). The rushing efficiency was ugly. Adonai Mitchell saw a team-high 12 targets, caught 6 for 63 yards (12.3 PPR). Isaiah Williams caught 6 of 6 targets for 34 yards (10.8 PPR) as a gadget option. Braelon Allen scored a rushing TD on 5 carries (8.5 PPR).
Green Bay moved the ball enough to win. Christian Watson caught 4 of 11 targets for 41 yards and a TD (14.1 PPR) — the TD saved his line; 4 catches on 11 targets is rough conversion. He dropped 2. Matthew Golden caught 4 of 6 for 58 yards (9.8 PPR). Jordan Love threw for only 145 yards on 29 attempts with 2 TDs but completed just 55.2% (13.8 fantasy points). MarShawn Lloyd scored a receiving TD on 6 carries (8.6 PPR) but fumbled. Chris Brooks handled the complementary RB work (27 snaps, 45.8% share).
Looking ahead: Hall's receiving role keeps him relevant even when the run game is cold. Mitchell's 12-target game is the clearest sign of upside on the Jets. Watson's inconsistent catch rate is a real concern with Love's low volume as a passer.
Cleveland Browns 23 at Tampa Bay Buccaneers 19
Cleveland won on the road. Denzel Boston was the fantasy star: 5 catches on 7 targets, 95 yards, 1 TD — including a 55-yard score — for 20.5 PPR points on 93.1% snap share. Deshaun Watson finished with 238 yards and 2 TDs on 80% completion (19.7 fantasy points) — his best-looking game of the season. Harold Fannin caught 5 of 6 for 54 yards (10.4 PPR). Quinshon Judkins caught all 5 of his targets for 27 yards and ran 12 times for 21 yards (9.8 PPR). Blake Whiteheart caught 1 of 2 for 17 yards and a TD from just 46.6% snap share.
Tampa couldn't quite close it. Bucky Irving was the best Buccaneer on the day — 17 carries, 89 yards, 4 catches (13.0 PPR) on 78.5% snap share. Chase McLaughlin hit all 4 field goals, including a 59-yarder, for 16 fantasy points. Emeka Egbuka scored a TD (10.3 PPR). Baker Mayfield threw for just 182 yards and 1 TD (13.2 fantasy points). Chris Godwin (8.8 PPR) and Cade Otton (8.8 PPR) were fine but not explosive.
Looking ahead: Watson's efficiency was encouraging — if this is a sustainable trend, Cleveland's offense gets more interesting. Irving is cementing himself as Tampa's lead back. Boston is a name to know as a waiver add if he's still available in shallow leagues.
Philadelphia Eagles 24 at Tennessee Titans 20
Philly escaped. DeVonta Smith was the clear fantasy winner: 10 catches on 13 targets, 117 yards, 1 TD for 27.7 PPR points on 88.2% snap share. She's the Eagles' unquestioned WR1 and that target share backs it up. Jalen Hurts threw for 264 yards, 2 TDs, and 2 INTs (18.2 fantasy points). Dontayvion Wicks caught 5 of 6 for 74 yards (12.4 PPR). Tank Bigsby carried 13 times for 33 yards and a TD on 34.2% snap share (11.8 PPR). Darius Cooper hauled in 2 catches for 26 yards and a score from just 40.8% snaps.
Dallas Goedert left this game with a knee injury and is listed as questionable (news reports an MRI on the right knee). That's the biggest injury flag from this game — Goedert owners are sweating.
Tennessee stayed competitive. Cam Ward ran for 2 TDs and threw for 183 yards, finishing QB11 at 20.0 fantasy points. Tony Pollard ran 14 times for 64 yards (7.5 PPR) and Tyjae Spears added 7 carries and 2 catches (9.0 PPR) — a genuine committee. Elic Ayomanor had the big play: 2 catches for 69 yards including a 41-yarder (8.9 PPR). Carnell Tate caught 3 of 5 for 27 yards on the other side of the field.
Looking ahead: Smith is a locked-in WR1. Monitor Goedert's MRI results closely — if he misses time, Wicks becomes a must-add. Tennessee's backfield committee (Pollard/Spears) remains murky.
Jacksonville Jaguars 13 at Denver Broncos 20
Denver won at home. Jaylen Waddle caught 8 of 10 targets for 138 yards (21.8 PPR) — he's Denver's downfield weapon and proved it with a 49-yard reception. Bo Nix was efficient: 22 of 31 for 288 yards (15.1 fantasy points). Jonah Coleman scored on 13 touches (14.8 PPR) and is generating buzz as a waiver wire add. Nate Adkins caught 3 of 3 for 32 yards and a TD from 37.1% snap share (12.8 PPR) — a low-volume TD score worth not over-trusting. Courtland Sutton continued to underwhelm: 3 catches for 25 yards (5.5 PPR).
Jacksonville managed only 13 points. Trevor Lawrence threw for 189 yards, 1 INT, and no TDs (7.2 fantasy points). Parker Washington led Jacksonville's receivers with 7 catches on 12 targets for 98 yards (16.8 PPR) — he's the volume leader in that passing game. Bhayshul Tuten ran 13 times for 65 yards and a TD (14.2 PPR). Brian Thomas saw 8 targets but caught only 3 for 40 yards with 2 drops (7.0 PPR). Jakobi Meyers caught his only target for 28 yards on 89.8% snaps but saw just 1 target.
Looking ahead: Waddle looks like a weekly WR2 in Denver's offense. Washington is the clear Jacksonville passing game target hog. Lawrence's floor is hard to trust as a fantasy QB with zero TDs and an INT here.
Las Vegas Raiders 26 at Los Angeles Chargers 14
Raiders won and the Chargers are now 0-2 — and per reporting, they have the league's hardest remaining schedule. Tre Tucker was the fantasy gem: 5 catches on 7 targets, 119 yards, 1 TD for 22.9 PPR points. Kirk Cousins threw for 253 yards and 3 TDs (21.2 fantasy points). Cody White caught just 2 targets but scored twice from 11.1% snap share (16.4 PPR) — pure touchdown luck, not a role you can trust. Ashton Jeanty ran 21 times for 48 yards on 81% snap share but struggled with efficiency (10.3 PPR). He also dropped 3 passes. Brock Bowers missed this game (knee), but news out Monday says he practiced this week with a potential Week 3 return — huge upside swing if he plays.
The Chargers' offense was a mess. Justin Herbert threw 2 INTs, lost 3 fumbles, and posted only 9.9 fantasy points. Omarion Hampton ran 23 times for 94 yards and a TD but also lost a fumble (17.5 PPR) — he's clearly the featured back. Ladd McConkey returned from injury but played only 45.6% of snaps and caught 3 for 35 yards (6.5 PPR). The offensive line issues are real.
Looking ahead: Tucker is a name to know — but check his ownership; he's not a set-it-and-forget-it play. Bowers' potential return to Las Vegas changes the entire offense. Hampton is a legit RB1 despite the fumble. Herbert and the Chargers offense are a fade until something changes.
Seattle Seahawks 31 at Arizona Cardinals 7
Jaxon Smith-Njigba had the single best fantasy performance of Week 2. He caught 9 of 11 targets for 155 yards and 3 touchdowns for 42.5 PPR points — the week's overall WR1 by a mile. One of those TDs went 82 yards. He did this on 67.1% snap share. That usage-to-production ratio is elite. Drew Lock was sharp: 19 of 26 for 235 yards and 3 TDs (21.4 fantasy points). Emanuel Wilson carried 21 times for 92 yards on 41.4% snaps (9.2 PPR) — the lead back role is his. Rashid Shaheed played 55.7% of snaps but caught only 3 of 6 targets for 35 yards (6.9 PPR). AJ Barner caught 1 pass and had a rushing TD (7.9 PPR).
Arizona was shutout-adjacent. Jacoby Brissett threw for just 95 yards and 1 TD on 28 attempts (7.5 fantasy points). Trey McBride caught 8 of 10 targets for 41 yards and a TD (18.1 PPR) — the TE is the entire passing game in a pinch. Jeremiyah Love ran 9 times for 29 yards (7.5 PPR). Michael Wilson caught 2 of 7 targets for 18 yards.
Looking ahead: JSN is a must-start WR1 every week. Lock-to-JSN is a real connection. McBride continues to dominate targets in Arizona's offense — TE1 upside every week even in bad games. This Arizona offense gives up on any idea of competing early.
Washington Commanders 20 at Dallas Cowboys 37
Dallas won convincingly in a shootout. Dak Prescott was exceptional: 26 of 31 for 279 yards and 4 TDs (29.8 fantasy points) on 83.9% completion. CeeDee Lamb caught 8 of 9 for 153 yards and 2 TDs (35.3 PPR) — that's the WR1 ceiling people drafted him for. Jake Ferguson hauled in all 4 of his targets for 43 yards and 2 TDs (20.3 PPR) out of only 60% snaps. George Pickens caught 6 of 8 for 40 yards (10.0 PPR) — the volume is there but the yardage is quiet. Javonte Williams ran 12 times for 30 yards and caught 3 passes (8.0 PPR).
Washington lost but had its own fantasy contributions. Jayden Daniels played only 54.9% of snaps before exiting and is listed as Out — the injury is the most important news from this game. Marcus Mariota finished the game (8.7 fantasy points). Stefon Diggs caught 5 of 6 for 47 yards and 2 TDs (21.7 PPR) — a big week despite the loss, but Diggs' target share (50.7% snap rate) raises questions about consistency. Rachaad White caught all 6 of his targets for 40 yards and ran for 43 more (14.3 PPR). Terry McLaurin caught only 2 of 9 targets for 50 yards (7.0 PPR) — 9 targets is a lot to only convert 2.
Looking ahead: Lamb and Prescott are must-starts. Ferguson's red-zone role is legitimate. Daniels' Out status means all Washington skill players need to be re-evaluated — Mariota is not a fantasy quarterback. Monitor the Commanders' depth chart daily.
Miami Dolphins 13 at San Francisco 49ers 35
San Francisco dominated. Brock Purdy was near-perfect: 20 of 22 for 287 yards, 2 passing TDs, and 1 rushing TD for 28.5 fantasy points. Christian McCaffrey ran 10 times for 23 yards and caught all 4 of his targets for 43 yards, with 2 rushing TDs (22.6 PPR) — efficient despite the modest raw rushing number. George Kittle caught all 4 of his targets for 80 yards and a TD (18.0 PPR), including a 40-yard reception. Mike Evans caught all 3 of his targets for 54 yards (8.4 PPR) but is listed as questionable going forward. Demarcus Robinson also played and is listed as Out.
Miami couldn't get anything going. Malik Willis threw for 197 yards and 1 TD (12.5 fantasy points). De'Von Achane ran 20 times for 74 yards and added 3 catches (12.3 PPR) — volume is present but efficiency was muted. Ryan Miller caught 1 target for 77 yards and a score (14.7 PPR) — a pure boom-or-bust result from just 11.9% snap share; don't chase it. Malik Washington (8.7 PPR) and Caleb Douglas (3.9 PPR, listed as questionable) rounded out a quiet Dolphins passing game.
Looking ahead: San Francisco's entire starting lineup is a smash every week when healthy. Monitor Evans' and Robinson's statuses — the 49ers WR depth below them matters. Achane remains the only Miami skill player worth a roster spot.
Indianapolis Colts 30 at Kansas City Chiefs 33
An overtime thriller — one of the week's best games. Jonathan Taylor was the overall RB1 this week: 24 carries, 92 yards, 2 TDs, and 4 catches for 40 yards on 93.8% snap share (29.2 PPR). That workload is elite. Tyler Warren caught 6 of 7 for 21 yards and a TD (14.4 PPR) — the yards were modest but the 7 targets on 89.2% snaps are a strong sign. Josh Downs caught 7 of 9 for 72 yards (14.2 PPR). Spencer Shrader hit all 3 field goals for 14 fantasy points. Daniel Jones threw for 210 yards and 1 TD (12.4 fantasy points). Laquon Treadwell added 3 catches for 61 yards (9.1 PPR). Alec Pierce apparently aggravated a heel injury per news reports — watch his status.
Kansas City survived in OT. Patrick Mahomes threw for 382 yards and 3 TDs (29.0 fantasy points). Kenneth Walker ran 24 times for 117 yards and caught 6 of 10 targets for 61 yards (23.8 PPR) — a true workhorse in his first season as the Chiefs' lead back. Travis Kelce caught 9 of 11 for 101 yards and a TD (25.1 PPR) — still the best TE in the game. Xavier Worthy scored on 5 catches for 25 yards (13.5 PPR, TD-dependent). Tyquan Thornton caught all 4 of his targets for 86 yards (12.6 PPR). Harrison Butker hit 4 of 5 FGs for 16 fantasy points.
Looking ahead: Taylor's 24-carry, 93.8%-snap performance cements him as a weekly RB1 lock. Walker is proving he belongs in top-tier RB conversations. Kelce is still Kelce. Mahomes-to-Kelce is the NFL's most reliable fantasy connection two weeks in.
New York Giants 6 at Los Angeles Rams 28
The Monday night game was all Rams. Matthew Stafford threw for 327 yards and 4 TDs on 70.97% completion (28.0 fantasy points). Davante Adams put up one of the week's best WR lines: 8 catches on 10 targets, 195 yards, and 2 TDs for 39.5 PPR points — the week's WR2 overall. Adams had a 64-yard reception. Kyren Williams ran 12 times for 85 yards, added a receiving TD, and scored 15.7 PPR. Blake Corum chipped in 12 carries for 79 yards (10.2 PPR) — the Rams use two backs, but Williams is clearly the lead. Terrance Ferguson caught 6 of 9 for 54 yards and a TD (17.4 PPR).
New York was outclassed. Jameis Winston completed 40.7% of his passes for 111 yards with 1 INT (3.5 fantasy points). Cam Skattebo ran 12 times for 36 yards and caught all 4 of his targets for 19 yards (9.5 PPR). Isaiah Likely saw 10 targets but caught only 5 for 33 yards (8.3 PPR). Darnell Mooney caught 2 of 3 for 48 yards (6.8 PPR). Malachi Fields caught 2 of 6 for 30 yards (5.0 PPR). News notes that Najee Harris returned from absence and took snaps away from Skattebo — the Giants' backfield committee is officially murkier.
Looking ahead: Adams and Stafford are must-starts. The Rams offense is firing and Ferguson is quietly a TE2 to target. The Giants offense is a mess — Winston can't sustain drives, and Skattebo's role may be further diluted with Harris back. Avoid Giants skill players in Week 3.
